A “December to Remember” plus 10 Essential Website To-Dos for 2022
I had a December to remember. And no I didn’t get a Lexus.
I achieved Squarespace “expert” status.
I celebrated a birthday.
I took care of family members that got Covid.
Did I find a new home for our family? Well, not quite.
Let’s back up to the day after Thanksgiving. I had just spent some time at the Hershey Spa with my mom and sister-in-law. I had planned out the workdays ahead. The goal was to finish up a few projects and enjoy vacation and time to work on the nuts and bolts of my business for the rest of the year
I went home, retrieved the mail, and noticed a letter from our property managers.
The writer thanked us for being great tenants for 3.5 years. Then, they let us know that we needed to buy or move out by mid-January.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Well, my husband and I have very different approaches to hearing news.
My first response is to work the problem. I immediately started searching for a new home. My husband decided not to let this ruin birthdays and Christmas and to wait until January to start.
Which one of us can you identify with?
Well, I found a place for us about two weeks in. I was slightly hesitant about it. But, my husband and the kids really liked it. So, I thought it was worth submitting an application.
It took the owners a long time to process everything so it was about two more weeks before we had our approval. To keep it brief, on the day we went to do the final walk-through and sign the lease, the place just wasn’t ready. And with out-of-reach landlords and a realtor who was trying to hold it all together so that we didn’t walk, we had no idea when it would be ready.
So, we decided to walk. And guess what? My husband got to start searching on January 1, just like he wanted!
My story today was going to be a video tour of my new office…but, for now that office doesn’t exist!
